Jamaica's Ambassador to the United States Audrey Marks has launched the Jamaica Roots getaway competition.
Jamaica Roots, as its name suggests, is about enabling Jamaicans living in the United States to reconnect with their history and culture.
For those born in Jamaica, but who migrated to the United States for a number of years without returning, it will be a chance to reconnect. For Jamaican-Americans (children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren of Jamaicans), it will be a chance to connect and learn more about your family history and country of origin.
Winners will have the option to stay at a hotel or live with a family member for one (1) week (all accommodation expenses paid), and enjoy guided tours all across the island to learn about the country and people of Jamaica, explore family roots, and experience what life is like in the local communities.
Each applicant must:
Be Jamaican or have Jamaican roots (be a child, grandchild, great grandchild, or even great-great grandchild of a Jamaican citizen)
Be at least 21 years old
Have a valid passport
Have lived outside of Jamaica for at least 10 years.
The competition closes December 15. The Draw will be broadcasted on Facebook Live. Click HERE to enter.
